Oika Expedition Zagori

Oika Exhibition Zagori was a 2022 Oika certification project in partnership with the EcoMuseum Zagori in Northern Greece. After meeting virtually through an Oika course, curator Geert Vermiere and three artists - Ida Larsen, Annie Rapstoff, and Vicky Vergou - traveled to Greece and met in person for the first time. What ensued was an experience "away from the pressures of home life, in a location supportive and sympathetic to creativity. [They] had time to build a shared dialogue with each other and dwell in reflective practice, allowing ideas to self-seed and grow." The artist trio, now inclusive of Jo Thomas, have since formed Tellus Art Lab and continue to develop work out of a shared commitment to the climate emergency, responses to place, and relationships from a wider, non-human perspective. Their practices are varied and include drawing, writing, walking, textiles, performance, social sculpture and video/film.
